Our Farm

The History of our farm
The Moarhof, officially known as “Mair zu Pranzag”, was acquired by the grandparents of host Peter in 1962. After some renovations, they began dairy farming, and the farm became home to six children, including Franz, Peter’s father. Franz took over the farm in 1988. Shortly after, he met Margaretha, and together they welcomed Peter and his brother Andreas into the family. With enthusiasm and dedication, they ran the farm as a family.

In 2001, Margaretha opened a snack station at the farm, and she continues to run the farm tavern with full commitment. Unfortunately, in 2006, the dairy farming operations at the farm came to an end.

In 2019, the farmhouse was expanded and renovated. During this time, two modern holiday apartments were built in the attic. The farm tavern’s dining room was also expanded by two tables, the guest toilets were renovated, and a new external staircase was constructed.

In 2024, Peter took over the farm. Together with his wife Michaela and their two children, Alina and Lorenz, Peter now runs the farm with passion as part of the third generation.

Our Animals
Many wonderful animals live on our farm. Our cows are the stars of the farm, spending their time in the barn from October to May and grazing in the meadows or on the Ritten Alm during the summer months.

Additionally, there are numerous rabbits on the farm, which Michaela and her children particularly enjoy taking care of.
Our two cats, Lilly and Mutz—who are definitely spoiled-are also part of our farm family.
Our chicken, which provide us with fresh eggs daily, also lead a happy life here.

If you are interested in helping with farm work or joining us in the summer for hay harvesting – whether you want to get hands-on or simply watch: you are welcome to join us after discussing it with us. We always appreciate helping hands!
